Amiens uses a 4-2-4 formation to play a highly vertical game. This lineup focuses on getting the ball forward as quickly as possible to catch the opposition off guard. It is built to overwhelm the defensive lines with heavy numbers in the final third, relying on quick transitions to catch opponents between the lines.

NARDI stays between the posts to anchor the back line. The defense operates as a flat back four with BUSI at right back and GILLOT at left back. They are expected to push up to support the attack while maintaining the line. In the middle, KINKOUE and BAKAYOKO act as the central defenders, with KINKOUE providing coverage and BAKAYOKO focusing on aerial strength. The whole unit must shift together to prevent gaps from opening when the team pushes high.

The midfield functions as a double pivot consisting of FOFANA and SALLES-LAMONGE. These two players have the heavy task of shielding the defense and breaking up play. They must control the center of the pitch to prevent counter attacks while also working to connect the back four to the four attackers. FOFANA and SALLES-LAMONGE act as the engine room, looking to intercept passes and immediately find the forward players.

Amiens utilizes four attackers to pin the opposition back. PITOU plays on the right wing and KANDIL operates on the left wing, both ready to cut inside or stretch the play. In the center, LUTIN and NTAMACK work as a strike partnership. This front line is designed to press high, forcing errors from the opposition defenders. The movements of LUTIN and NTAMACK create space for the wingers to exploit through runs behind the defensive line.

One major advantage is the ability to isolate wide players in one on one situations against full backs. By committing four players to the attack, Amiens creates numerical superiority in the final third. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the two midfielders can quickly switch play to the wide areas. This formation also makes it difficult for opponents to maintain a compact block because of the constant threat from the two central strikers.

This 4-2-4 formation is a high risk, high reward system centered on aggressive attacking. It is best suited for games where Amiens needs to break down a low block or when facing an opponent that struggles with direct, vertical play.
