Partizan plays with a 5-2-3 formation that focuses on heavy verticality and quick transitions. Vidić is known for his intense tackling and physical presence, while Jaja Ture offers physical power in the middle of the defense. Lam and R. Karlos act as wide wing backs who push high up the pitch to provide width. R. Karlos can cut inside to influence the play, while Lam focuses on overlapping to send crosses into the box. The unit stays compact to block passing lanes and force opponents wide.

The midfield relies on a two man engine room to connect the play. Inijesta and De Brujne operate in the central areas to drive the ball forward. Inijesta uses his precise passing range to break the line and find the attackers, while De Brujne uses his vision and ability to switch play to find space. These two players must work hard to track back and cover the gaps left by the advancing wing backs. They act as the primary link between the back five and the frontline.

In the attacking phase, Partizan uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. Runi operates as the lone striker, using his ability to hold up the ball and link with his teammates. On the flanks, Mbape and Anri act as wide attackers who look to cut inside and run at defenders. Mbape uses his explosive speed to beat his marker, while Anri provides additional width. The forwards press high when the ball is lost to prevent the opponent from building play easily.
