SPINACCÈ sits between the lines as the goalkeeper to organize the defense. The back line consists of three central defenders, MANCUSO, KACZMARSKI, and BERENBRUCH, who must maintain close distances to block passing lanes. They act as a wall to protect the middle of the pitch. ZOUIN and DE PIERI act as wing backs on either side of the central trio. ZOUIN is tasked to push up the flank to provide width, while DE PIERI must track back to cover the space left behind. The whole unit must move together to ensure no gaps open between the defenders.

The midfield works in a flat line of four to protect the central zone. STANTE and STABILE operate as the central pair to shield the back three and intercept passes. They need to hold their positions and avoid getting drawn too far forward. MARELLO and CINQUEGRANO sit on the left and right sides to track the opposition wingers. These four players connect the defense to the lone striker by recycling possession or hitting long balls forward.

In the attacking phase, the team relies on a lone striker, CALLIGARIS, to hold up the ball. Because there are no other forwards, CALLIGARIS must fight for long balls and try to link with the midfield. The width comes from the wing backs rather than the attackers. MARELLO and CINQUEGRANO provide support by making runs into the final third, while ZOUIN and DE PIERI overlap to deliver crosses into the box. The forwards press the opposition back line to force mistakes.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for Inter. The primary strength is the compactness when defending, making it very hard for opponents to find space between the lines. Using three central defenders provides extra cover against through balls. Another advantage is the ability to create wide overloads when ZOUIN and CINQUEGRANO push up together. This setup allows the team to remain difficult to break down while still threatening through rapid transitions.
