SPINAZZOLA are expected to push up the pitch to provide width, requiring the central defenders to cover the space behind them when the full backs overlap.

The midfield operates as a double pivot to bridge the gap between the defense and the attack. N. BARELLA brings high pressing intensity and work rate to win back possession, while M. KOVAČIĆ uses his passing range to connect the lines and drive the team forward. These two players must stay disciplined to shield the defense and prevent counter attacks while the rest of the team pushes up.
