Boca utilizes a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to play a very vertical game that focuses on heavy attacking pressure and quick transitions. The goal for Boca is to overload the final third and force opponents into deep blocks through constant forward movement and high intensity.

P. GAZZANIGA plays between the posts to anchor the defense. The back line operates as a flat back four where A. FRÍAS acts as a right-sided central defender and A. COSTA covers the left side. To provide width and support the attack, A. GIAY pushes up as an overlapping full back on the right while L. BLANCO handles the left flank. These four must coordinate their steps to maintain a high line and prevent long balls from breaking the line.

The midfield works with a double pivot to connect the defense to the heavy front line. L. PAREDES uses his passing range and ability to control the tempo to dictate play from the center. He works alongside S. ASCACIBAR to shield the back four and intercept passes. This duo must cover a lot of ground to prevent the team from being bypassed in the middle during defensive moments.

This attacking lineup features four players positioned high up the pitch. E. ZEBALLOS and N. NÁNDEZ operate as wide wingers who look to cut inside and create space. In the central channels, R. GARRO and M. MERENTIEL act as two forwards. They work to hold up the ball and make runs behind the defense, while the wide players press high to force turnovers near the opponent's goal.

One main strength is the ability to create wide overloads when the full backs join the wingers. Another advantage is the speed of transition when the double pivot wins the ball and immediately finds the four attackers. This formation also allows the team to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for the opponent to build play from the back.
