Starting Lineup

Jihlava utilizes a 4-5-1 formation that focuses on a compact defensive block and rapid transitions. Soukup stays between the posts to manage the defensive line from the back. A flat back four consists of Haala at right back and Hošek at left back, while Beneš and Štětka act as the central defenders. Haala and Hošek are tasked to hold their positions but can push up to support the midfield when needed. Beneš and Štětka must focus on marking attackers and clearing crosses to keep the defense safe. The whole unit works to stay close together to deny space between the lines.

The midfield consists of five players working in a crowded central area. Pešek and Čermák act as a double pivot to shield the defense and intercept passes. Křivánek, Farka, and Lopatář occupy the spaces ahead of them to connect the defense to the attack. Lopatář and Farka help to control the tempo, while Křivánek looks to break the line with vertical passes. This central concentration makes it difficult for opponents to play through the middle of the pitch.

Omotoye acts as a lone striker leading the front line. He must hold up the ball to allow the five midfielders to push forward into the attacking third. The attack relies on the wide midfielders to provide width and cross the ball into the box. When the team loses the ball, Omotoye leads the first line of the press to force mistakes. The movement of the midfielders into advanced positions creates space for Omotoye to run behind the defense.

Jihlava finds success through numerical superiority in the central midfield area. By packing the middle with five players, they make it very hard for the opposition to find passing lanes. The team also uses the speed of transition to catch opponents off guard when they commit too many men forward.
