Starting Lineup

Echo · Raiderz · Tayto · Gil · Tactics · Prub · Mikey · Nimmo · Jay · Myles · Jordan

Palermo operates with a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to play a high press while maintaining a heavy presence in the middle of the pitch. The intention is to control the tempo of the game through central congestion and quick vertical passes to the strikers.

Jordan starts in goal to anchor the back line. The defensive unit consists of a back three with Raiderz acting as the central defender to hold the line. Myles plays as the right center back to cover wide spaces, while Tayto occupies the left center back position. These three work together to block passing lanes and step up to intercept balls before they reach the penalty area.

The midfield is the engine room of Palermo. Gil plays as the attacking ten to connect the lines and find pockets of space between the opposition defense and midfield. Tactics and Prub operate as the central duo to shield the back three and drive the ball forward. On the flanks, Nimmo and Echo act as wide midfielders to provide width and track back when the team loses possession.

The attack features two forwards, Jay and Mikey, who work in tandem to stretch the opposition. Jay plays as the left striker while Mikey operates as the right striker. They are tasked to press high and run into channels to create space for Gil to slip through balls. This two man front line is designed to pin the defenders back and create constant movement in the final third.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. The use of Nimmo and Echo allows for wide overloads when they push forward to support the attack. Having a central trio of Tactics, Prub, and Gil creates numerical superiority in midfield to dominate possession. The compact nature of the back three and the central midfield makes the team very difficult to break down through the middle.

Palermo relies on a heavy central presence and aggressive pressing to dictate play. This 3-5-2 formation is best suited for games against teams that try to play through the middle or rely on slow build up play.
