ATUBOLU acts as the last line of defense behind a back four. BASTONI and LACROIX form the central pairing, with BASTONI often stepping up to act as a ball playing defender. LACROIX provides cover while BISSECK works as a right back, often looking to push forward and overlap. DIMARCO plays on the left as an attacking full back, looking to cross and switch play early. The unit must stay compact when the ball is lost to prevent long balls behind them.

The midfield relies on a double pivot consisting of BARELLA and ANDRÉ (C). As captain, ANDRÉ is tasked to shield the defense and break the lines with his passing. BARELLA provides energy to drive forward and press opponents in the middle third. These two must work hard to cover the ground left vacant by the advanced attackers and ensure the team does not get caught on the break.

In front of the midfield, the attack uses four players to stretch the opposition. DIABY and GNONTO act as wide wingers, with DIABY often looking to cut inside and GNONTO using his pace on the flank. BAUMGARTNER and LAUTARO work as two central forwards. LAUTARO is known for his pressing intensity and ability to hold up the ball, while BAUMGARTNER makes runs to break the line. This front four presses high to force mistakes.

One major advantage for Inter is the ability to create wide overloads when DIMARCO and BISSECK push high. The formation also allows for high pressing in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build from the back.
