Inter plays in a 3-4-3 formation that focuses on a high press and rapid verticality. This lineup is built to dominate territory and win the ball back high up the pitch. The team aims to use the ball to move the opponent from side to side before striking through the center or the wings.

ATUBOLU stays between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit works with a back three composed of BISSECK, LACROIX, and BASTONI. BASTONI operates as a ball playing defender with a wide passing range who can step up to help build the attack from the back. BISSECK and LACROIX focus on being dominant in the air and providing cover for the wide areas. The back three must stay compact to block passing lanes and prevent any runs through the center.

The midfield functions with a central pair of BARELLA and ANDRÉ. BARELLA has the energy to drive forward and join the attack, while ANDRÉ sits deeper to shield the defense and intercept the ball. This duo acts as the bridge between the defenders and the forwards. They work to break the line with precise passes and must constantly shift to cover the spaces left by the wingers.

Inter utilizes three attackers in the front line. LAUTARO leads the press from the front, using his movement to hold up the ball and his pressing intensity to force mistakes. GNONTO and DIABY operate as wide attackers who prefer to cut inside to create goalscoring chances. This movement allows DIMARCO and BAKU to push high and overlap. DIMARCO and BAKU provide the width needed to stretch the opposition defense and deliver crosses.

One major tactical strength is the ability to create wide overloads when DIMARCO and BAKU overlap with the wingers. This forces the opposing full backs into difficult one on one situations. The team also uses its ability to press high in coordinated waves to win possession in dangerous areas. The players then switch play quickly to exploit gaps in the defense during the transition.

This 3-4-3 formation relies on intense running and quick ball movement. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to pin a defensive opponent back and use wide areas to create space.
