Inter plays a 4-2-4 formation that focuses on a high press and quick vertical transitions. This lineup is built to overwhelm the opposition by pushing many players into the final third to force turnovers. The goal is to win the ball high up the pitch and immediately strike before the defense can get organized.

At the back, ATUBOLU guards the goal while the defensive unit works to maintain a high line. BASTONI plays as a ball playing defender who can step up into midfield to help build play, while LACROIX, who is the captain, provides aerial strength and covers space behind the line. BISSECK operates as a right back to provide stability, and DIMARCO acts as an attacking left back who loves to overlap and send crosses into the box. The defensive unit must remain compact to prevent long balls from breaking the line.

The midfield works as a double pivot to provide a base for the attack. ANDRÉ, the captain, acts as the primary shield to intercept passes and hold his position in front of the defenders. BARELLA drives forward from the right side to connect the defense and attack, using his high pressing intensity and ability to break the line with carries. This two man unit must work hard to track back and cover the wide areas when the full backs push high.

In the attacking phase, Inter uses four players to pin the opposition defense. LAUTARO works as a central striker who can hold up the ball and link play, while ZIELINSKI operates as a second striker to find pockets of space. On the wings, DIABY and GNONTO act as wide attackers to provide width and stretch the defensive block. These four forwards press in coordinated waves to stop the opponent from playing out from the back.

This formation offers massive advantages in terms of wide overloads when DIMARCO and BISSECK push forward to support the wingers. It also allows for immediate numerical superiority in the box during crosses and set pieces. The speed of transition from a mid block to a full press makes it very difficult for opponents to find time on the ball.

Inter relies on this aggressive 4-2-4 to dominate games through sheer attacking pressure. This formation is best suited for matches where the opponent plays a low block and needs to be broken down with constant numbers in the box.
