The midfield is built around three central players who link the defense to the attack. DENÍLSON and JOSÉ occupy the central roles to shield the back four and win second balls. DENÍLSON moves into the half spaces to drive forward, while JOSÉ acts as a pivot to hold the ball and switch play. GABRIEL operates as an attacking midfielder to play between the lines and create chances. This trio works to break the line with vertical passes to the forwards.
