PSG utilizes a 4-3-3 formation to drive a high press and vertical attacking style. This lineup is built to control the ball in the middle third and quickly push forward to exploit space. The goal for PSG is to dominate matches through aggressive positioning and quick transitions.

Safonov acts as the last line of defense behind a flat back four. Marquinhos leads the defensive unit as a ball playing center back who can step up to intercept passes. Beside him, Pacho provides cover and holds the line with his physical presence. Hakimi functions as an attacking full back who likes to overlap and push high up the pitch to provide width. On the left, Mendes tucks in or pushes forward to support the flank while tracking back to cover the defense.

The midfield operates with a single pivot system centered around Vitinha. He sits in front of the defense to shield the back line and break the lines with his passing range. Next to him, Zaïre-Emery drives forward from the center to link the defense with the attack. Neves occupies the left side of the midfield to help connect play and maintain possession. This trio works to press opponents in the center and keep the ball moving between the lines.

The attacking line features three players tasked with stretching the opposition. Dembélé leads the front three as a striker who can hold up the ball and create space for others. On the wings, Kvaratskhelia and Doué look to cut inside and drive toward the goal. Kvaratskhelia uses his dribbling style to beat markers on the flank. The forwards work together to press high and force mistakes in the final third.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through wide overloads created by Hakimi and Mendes. The midfield three provides numerical superiority in the center of the pitch to control the tempo. PSG can also isolate Kvaratskhelia and Doué in one on one situations when they receive the ball in wide areas.
