This defensive unit relies on staying compact to prevent being caught out on the break.

The midfield operates as a double pivot with BATISTA and JOAN holding the central positions. BATISTA and JOAN have the heavy task of shielding the defense and intercepting passes in the middle of the pitch. They must work to break the line with direct passes to the attackers. By sitting just in front of the back four, they connect the defensive unit to the heavy attacking front and help the team shift when the ball moves.

The front line is built around four players. CHIDERA and PEQUE operate as wide attackers, often looking to cut inside to create central threats. In the center, ISAAC and NEAL act as the two forwards. ISAAC and NEAL must hold up the ball to allow the midfielders to push up and join the attack. The front four are expected to press high, making it difficult for the opposition to build play from the back or find a way out of their own half.

One major tactical strength is the ability to create wide overloads. When CHIDERA and PEQUE move into central channels, OSO and JUANLU can overlap to send crosses into the box. Sevilla also gains an advantage through their ability to press in coordinated waves. The high density of players in the attacking half makes it easy to win the ball back quickly and switch play to find open teammates.
