Alavés utilizes a 4-3-3 formation that focuses on a high press and verticality. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly transition into attacking phases. The team aims to use wide players to stretch the opposition and create space for central runners.

ANTONIO guards the goal as the lone goalkeeper. In front of him, the back four works as a unit to maintain a high line and compress the pitch. YOUSSEF acts as the left back to provide width, while NAHUEL operates as the right back to overlap when the ball moves sideways. FACUNDO and JON occupy the central defender roles, where they must be ready to step up to intercept passes or drop back to cover space behind.

The midfield works in a combination of three players to control the center. ANTONIO and ANDER sit in the deeper roles to shield the defense and break the line with forward passes. JON plays as the attacking ten, operating behind the striker to connect the midfield to the attack. This trio must press together to prevent opponents from playing through the middle and must shift as a block to cover wide areas.

Alavés employs three attackers to create constant pressure on the opposition back line. DENIS and CARLES act as wide wingers, looking to cut inside or deliver crosses into the box. LUCAS serves as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and lead the press from the front. These three forwards work to isolate defenders and create space in the half spaces through constant movement.
