BISSECK occupies the right side of the central trio to defend against wide threats. The unit often steps up to squeeze the space between the midfield and the defense.

The midfield functions with two central players and two wide players in a box. ANDRÉ acts as the pivot to shield the defense and break the lines with his passing. BARELLA works alongside him to drive forward and press the opposition in the middle. On the flanks, PORRO and DIMARCO act as wing backs who push high to provide width. These wide midfielders must track back to help the back three when the team loses possession.

The attacking front line uses three attackers to pressure the opposition defense. LAUTARO plays as the lone striker and focuses on holding up the ball and pressing from the front. BAUMGARTNER and DIABY operate as wide attackers who look to cut inside and create goal scoring chances. This front three moves in unison to force mistakes and create space in the channels for the midfielders to run into.
