They focus on intercepting play and quickly moving the ball to the wide players or the striker to start a transition.

In the attacking phase, Roma uses three forwards to pressure the opponent. Dovbyk leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and fight for aerial duels. Nkunku plays on the left as an inverted winger to cut inside and create chances, while Kulusevski stays on the right to drive at the defense and cross the ball.
