The attack is heavy with four forwards. Musiala and Kane operate as central forwards, with Kane acting as a focal point to hold up the ball and Musiala using his dribbling to break lines. Olise stays wide on the right and Diaz stays wide on the left. These wide players look to cut inside or deliver crosses, while the forwards press the opposition defenders constantly.

One strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By having four attackers, FC Bayern can squeeze the space in the final third and force turnovers near the goal. Another advantage is the ability to create wide overloads when Laimer and Stanisic join the wingers, making it hard for the opposition to mark everyone.
