Further forward, Schuster and Terzic operate in the half spaces to drive forward and create chances. They must stay close to the central midfielders to prevent gaps from opening up in the middle.

RB Salzburg employs a lone striker in Schlager to lead the line. Schlager is expected to hold up the ball and fight for long passes to allow the midfielders to move up the pitch. The attacking movement relies on Schuster and Terzic cutting inside to support the striker or making runs behind the defense. The wing backs, Redzic and Vertessen, provide the necessary width by overlapping to send crosses into the box.
