This midfield group must work hard to intercept passes and press immediately upon losing possession.

The attack is built around a heavy front four that occupies all vertical and horizontal channels. Musiala and Havertz operate as two central forwards, with Musiala using his dribbling to break the line and Havertz providing a target to hold up the ball. Wirtz plays on the left as an inverted winger to cut inside and create, while Adeyemi uses his speed on the right flank to stretch the defense. This front line presses the opposition defenders constantly to force turnovers.

Germany gains a massive advantage through numerical superiority in the final third, making it very hard for opponents to mark every runner.
