Charlton utilizes a 4-3-3 formation to drive a vertical and high pressing game. This lineup is designed to win the ball high up the pitch and move forward with speed. The goal is to catch opponents out of position through quick transitions and direct play to keep the pressure on the opposition.

THOMAS stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four with CONOR and REECE acting as the central defenders. CONOR covers the right side while REECE marks the center. On the flanks, HARRY and LUKE provide width. HARRY can push up to overlap, while LUKE tracks back to maintain the defensive line. The unit works to stay compact and keep the distance between the defenders small.

The midfield functions with a single attacking ten and two supporting players. SONNY sits in the hole to create chances and break the line with through balls. CONOR and GREG occupy the central roles to shield the defense. GREG works to intercept passes and hold the position, while CONOR drives the ball forward to link the defense to the attack. This trio helps control the tempo and ensures the team stays connected during transitions.

In the attacking phase, Charlton employs three forwards to stretch the opposition. CHARLIE leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and bring others into play. TYREECE operates on the left wing and HARVEY on the right wing. Both TYREECE and HARVEY look to cut inside to shoot or cross the ball into the box. The front three press high to force mistakes and create immediate chances.

This formation offers wide overloads when HARRY and LUKE push forward to support the attack. Another strength is the ability to press high in coordinated waves using the front three and SONNY. The midfield pairing of GREG and CONOR provides the platform to switch play quickly and isolate wide players in one on one situations through rapid ball movement.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on high energy and quick vertical movement. It is best used against teams that play a high line or struggle to track runners in the half spaces during transition moments in the game.
