NAC Breda Football Formation
Starting Lineup
KOSTAS (LAMPROU) · CHERRION (VALERIUS) · JEMUEL (ERAT) · ENES (MAHMUTOVIC) · JAYDEN (CANDELARIA) · FREDRIK (O. JENSEN) · CLINT (LEEMANS) · LEWIS (HOLTBY) · JUHO (TALVITIE) · ANDRE (AYEW) · AMINE (SALAMA)NAC Breda uses a 4-3-3 formation to drive their tactical identity. High pressing and vertical movement are used to disrupt the opponent. This formation is built to play a direct game where they win the ball high up the pitch and quickly move it toward the goal.
KOSTAS acts as the goalkeeper to anchor the defense. A flat back four forms the main defensive line. JAYDEN and CHERRION function as the full backs who look to overlap the wide players and provide width, but they must also track back to defend the flanks. ENES and JEMUEL occupy the central defender roles. These two need to be able to step up to squeeze the play or drop deep to cover space behind them. Compactness is required from the unit to block passing lanes and intercept any balls played into the box.
The midfield functions with a mix of control and creativity. CLINT and FREDRIK work together to shield the defense and win second balls. They use their passing range to break the line and connect the defense to the attack. LEWIS plays as an attacking ten, pushing into the space between the opponent's midfield and defense. He works to create chances and turn toward the goal. This midfield trio ensures that the team can shift from a defensive block to an attacking phase without losing control.
Three players lead the attack. AMINE operates as the lone striker who must hold up the ball and fight for position against central defenders. On the flanks, ANDRE and JUHO act as wide wingers to stretch the opposition. ANDRE likes to cut inside to create shooting opportunities, while JUHO looks to push wide and cross the ball into the box. The front three and LEWIS are tasked to press high to prevent the opponent from building from the back.
One main strength of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads. When CHERRION or JAYDEN push forward, they create a numerical advantage alongside the wingers. Another advantage is the capacity to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for the opponent to pass out of their own half. The team can also use the speed of transition to exploit gaps when the opposition is out of position.
The 4-3-3 formation allows NAC Breda to maintain high intensity and pressure the opponent constantly. This lineup is best suited for facing teams that prefer to play out from the back and can be caught by a heavy press.
