Inter plays with a 3-4-3 formation that focuses on a high press and quick transitions. This lineup is built to dominate the ball in the middle third and use the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition. The goal is to create constant pressure in the final third through heavy verticality.

JOSEP acts as the goalkeeper behind a back three. LACROIX sits in the center to provide aerial strength and cover, while BASTONI plays as a ball playing left defender who can step up into midfield. BISSECK completes the defensive line on the right side to mark attackers and intercept passes. The defensive unit works to keep a high line to compress the space between the lines.

The midfield operates with two central players and two wide midfielders. ANDRÉ acts as a single pivot to shield the defense and break the line with his passing. BARELLA plays alongside him to drive forward and connect the defense to the attack. On the flanks, DIMARCO and PORRO operate as wide midfielders who push high to provide crosses and overlap the attackers.

Inter uses three attackers to pressure the opposition back line. LAUTARO plays as the lone striker to hold up the ball and link play. CHAÏBI and DIABY act as wide wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring chances. These three forwards press in coordinated waves to force turnovers high up the pitch.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. The wide midfielders allow for wide overloads when DIMARCO and PORRO push forward to support the wingers. The central trio of ANDRÉ, BARELLA, and LAUTARO allows for numerical superiority in central areas to control the tempo. The ability to shift from a back three to a back five when defending provides compactness.

This 3-4-3 formation relies on high intensity and rapid vertical play to overwhelm the opponent. It is best suited for games against teams that play a high line or struggle to track runners from deep.
