Colorado utilizes a 4-3-3 formation to maintain a high press and promote vertical play. The primary goal is to win the ball high up the pitch and move it toward the goal with speed. This lineup is built to squeeze the playing area and force errors from the opposition in their own half.

ZACK stands between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back four features REGGIE at right back and MIGUEL at left back, working alongside central defenders LUCAS and ROB. LUCAS and ROB must maintain a high line to compress the pitch, while also being ready to drop and cover if the opposition plays a long ball. REGGIE and MIGUEL provide width when they overlap, allowing the team to stretch the opponent.

The midfield consists of three players who control the tempo. JOSH and HAMZAT play in the central areas to shield the defense and intercept passes. They are responsible for connecting the defense to the attack by making simple passes or driving forward into space. PAXTEN operates as the attacking ten, sitting in the hole to find gaps between the lines. PAXTEN acts as the creative hub, looking to play through balls that break the opposition defense.

The attack is led by RAFAEL, who plays as a lone striker. He must hold up the ball to allow the others to move into scoring positions. ALEXIS and DARREN act as the wide attackers, providing much needed width. ALEXIS can cut inside from the left to shoot, while DARREN can use his pace on the right to beat his mark. Their movement helps create space in the center for others to exploit.

A clear strength for Colorado is the ability to create wide overloads. When REGGIE and MIGUEL push up, they create numerical superiority on the flanks. Additionally, the team can press high in coordinated waves. By using the front three and PAXTEN to hunt the ball, they can force turnovers in dangerous areas. This makes the transition from defense to attack very rapid.

This 4-3-3 formation is designed for teams that want to dictate play through aggressive pressing. It is ideally suited for games against opponents that struggle to build play from the back under heavy pressure.
