Atlas Football Formation
Starting Lineup
CAMILO (VARGAS) · GUSTAVO (FERRAREIS) · RODRIGO (SCHLEGEL) · MANUEL (CAPASSO) · JORGE (RODRÍGUEZ) · ÉDGAR (ZALDÍVAR) · ALDO (ROCHA) · VÍCTOR (RÍOS) · DIEGO (GONZÁLEZ) · ARTURO (GONZÁLEZ) · GUSTAVO (DEL PRETE)Atlas uses a 4-3-3 formation to play a high press game. This lineup focuses on winning the ball back quickly in the opposition half and playing vertically to catch the defense off guard. The team wants to control the tempo through quick passing and aggressive movement in the attacking third.
CAMILO guards the goal as the last line of defense. Behind him, the back four maintains a high line to compress the pitch. RODRIGO and MANUEL act as the central defenders, where RODRIGO focuses on aerial strength and MANUEL provides cover. JORGE and GUSTAVO operate as full backs, with JORGE looking to overlap to provide width and GUSTAVO tasked to push forward and support the right side. The defensive unit works to step up together to catch attackers offside.
The midfield functions with a central trio that connects the play. VÍCTOR plays as the attacking midfielder to link the midfield to the front three. ALDO and ÉDGAR occupy the central roles to control the ball and break the line with through passes. ALDO works to drive forward into space while ÉDGAR stays back to shield the defense and intercept passes. This three man group ensures that Atlas maintains control in the middle of the pitch.
In the attacking third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. GUSTAVO leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and bring others into play. ARTURO plays on the left wing and is known for his dribbling style, while DIEGO operates on the right wing to cut inside and create shooting opportunities. These wingers provide the width necessary to pull defenders out of position, creating gaps for VÍCTOR to run into.
One tactical advantage is the ability to create wide overloads when JORGE and ARTURO push high together. The formation also allows for a coordinated high press, where the front three and VÍCTOR work to force turnovers near the opponent's goal. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the team can move from a defensive block to an attacking wave in seconds.
This 4-3-3 formation relies on high energy and aggressive positioning to dominate the ball. It is best suited for matches against teams that play a high defensive line and struggle with quick vertical transitions.
