In goal, MATÍAS keeps watch over the defense. The back line consists of a flat back four with MAIZON and VALENTÍN acting as the central defenders. MAIZON and VALENTÍN must remain compact to cover the space behind the midfield, while LAUTO and MATEO operate as full backs. LAUTO and MATEO provide width when they push forward to overlap, but they must track back quickly to prevent being caught on the break.

The midfield is a double pivot consisting of MAURO and RAFAEL. These two players hold the center of the pitch to protect the back four. MAURO and RAFAEL work to intercept passes and break the lines with forward runs. They act as the engine room, connecting the defensive unit to the front four by recycling possession and shielding the central zone when the team loses control.

The attacking unit is composed of four players, using two wide wingers and two central forwards. FRANCO and JULIÁN occupy the flanks to stretch the opposition defense, with FRANCO looking to cut inside and JULIÁN to cross the ball. In the middle, MARCELO and CRISTIAN act as the two forwards, working together to hold up the ball or make runs behind the defense. This front line presses intensely to force errors from the opposition back line.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads when LAUTO and MATEO push high to support the wingers. Unión (SF) also benefits from the numerical superiority in the attacking zone, which makes it difficult for opponents to mark everyone.
