Starting Lineup

BOLTZ · VON · CHAR · FALCON · DONKA · LYRIO · IPPO · TSAB · MEZOZOE · NYRO · SOMERANDOM

Man City utilizes a 3-3-4 formation to drive an aggressive, high press game. This lineup is built for verticality, looking to push the opposition back into their own half as quickly as possible. The main goal of this formation is to dominate the final third and keep the ball in the opponent's defensive zone through constant pressure.

SOMERANDOM acts as the foundation in goal, distributing the ball to start the play. The defensive unit relies on a back three made of MEZOZOE, TSAB, and NYRO. TSAB plays as the left central defender, while NYRO sits on the right, leaving MEZOZOE to cover the central area. These three must stay compact and step up to intercept passes. They are tasked to cover the wide channels if the wingers do not track back immediately.

In the middle of the pitch, IPPO, LYRIO, and DONKA form the midfield engine. DONKA plays a central role to shield the defense and protect the center of the pitch. IPPO and LYRIO operate on the left and right sides to drive forward and connect the back three to the front four. This midfield trio works to press the ball and break the line with direct passes to the attackers.

The front line is highly potent with four attackers working in unison. FALCON and CHAR occupy the wide positions to provide width and stretch the opposition defense. In the center, VON and BOLTZ operate as two strikers to occupy the central defenders. FALCON and CHAR can cut inside to create goal scoring chances, while VON and BOLTZ work to hold up the ball and make runs into the box.

A primary strength of this lineup is the numerical superiority in the attacking phase. By committing four players forward, Man City can isolate wide players in one on one situations. The coordinated waves of pressure from the front four make it difficult for opponents to build play. Additionally, the quick ability to switch play to FALCON or CHAR allows the team to exploit space on the flanks.

This 3-3-4 formation represents a high risk, high reward attacking identity. It is most effective when facing teams that sit deep and struggle to handle intense, coordinated pressing.
