Coquimbo utilizes a 4-3-3 formation to play a high press game. This lineup is built to win the ball back quickly in the final third and move the play forward with verticality. The team looks to dominate territory by pushing their lines up the pitch to squeeze the opposition into their own half.

GONZALO acts as the last line of defense in goal. The back line operates as a flat back four where ELVIS and BENJAMÍN play as the central defenders. ELVIS and BENJAMÍN must step up to intercept passes and maintain a high line to compress the pitch. On the flanks, JUAN and FRANCISCO act as full backs, tasked to overlap to provide width or drop back to cover the space behind the midfield. The defensive unit works to stay compact and shift together to block passing lanes.

The midfield operates with a central trio that connects the defense to the attack. SEBASTIÁN and DYLAN occupy the central roles, tasked to shield the defense and break the line with their passing. They need to track back when possession is lost to prevent counter attacks. GUIDO plays as the attacking ten, positioned to drive forward and create chances in the final third. This midfield group must control the tempo and ensure they do not get bypassed in transition.

Coquimbo uses three attackers to stretch the opposition. LUCAS plays as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and press the opposing center backs. On the wings, BENJAMÍN and CRISTIÁN act as wide attackers who look to cut inside to create central overloads. The movement of BENJAMÍN and CRISTIÁN creates space for the full backs to push high. The attack is designed to create high pressure through constant running and movement in the final third.

This formation offers several tactical advantages, particularly the ability to press high in coordinated waves. By having BENJAMÍN, CRISTIÁN, and LUCAS pressing together, the team can force turnovers deep in the opposition half. Another strength is the wide overloads created when JUAN and FRANCISCO overlap their wingers.
