Jihlava utilizes a 4-5-1 formation that focuses on a compact mid block and quick transitions. Alkasim provides physical presence in the air while Štětka focuses on covering the space behind the full backs. Matoušek and Haala play as wide defenders, tasked with tracking back to defend the flanks and occasionally overlapping to provide width. The defensive unit works to stay compact, ensuring the distances between the defenders and the midfield remain small to prevent passing lanes.

The midfield consists of five players working to dominate the center of the pitch. Lacko and Čermák sit in front of the defense as a double pivot, looking to intercept passes and break the play. Vlček, Křivánek, and Křehlík operate in the central zone to connect the defensive unit to the attack. Křehlík and Křivánek drive forward to support the press, while Vlček helps to link the play by moving the ball from the pivot to the final third. This group works to block passing lanes and maintain a high volume of tackles in the middle third.

The attacking structure relies on a lone striker, Omotoye, who plays as a target man to hold up the ball. Because the team lacks natural wingers in the front line, the width comes from the wide midfielders or the full backs pushing high. Omotoye must press the opposition center backs and fight for long balls to bring the advancing midfielders into the game. The movement of Křehlík and Křivánek into the box creates chances for the striker to exploit in central areas.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to maintain a very compact defensive block. By crowding the middle, the team makes it difficult for opponents to play through the center, forcing them to cross from wide areas. Another strength is the ability to create a numerical superiority in the midfield during transitions, allowing the team to quickly win the ball back and switch play to the flanks.
