Both Giménez and Ovando focus on marking and covering space to stop any runners. Every player in the unit must move together to push up or drop back as a single block.

The midfield is very crowded with five players tasked with controlling the game. Ramos and Gutierrez play as a double pivot to shield the defense and intercept passes. Supporting them, Cantizano, Cabrera, and Segovia work to connect the defense to the attack. Cantizano and Cabrera occupy the central roles to break the line with forward passes, while Segovia moves to support the play. This group must track back quickly to maintain the block when possession is lost.

The attacking formation uses a lone striker in Moreno. He must hold up the ball to bring the midfielders into the game. Because the formation lacks natural wingers, the wide presence must come from the midfielders making runs. Moreno is tasked to press the opposition and hold the ball under pressure. Such movement is designed to create space for the midfielders to push forward and join the attack in the final third.

A major tactical advantage for Rosario Central is the numerical superiority in the central zone. By packing the middle, they can clog passing lanes and force opponents to the wings. Another strength is the ability to shift as a unit, which allows the team to maintain compactness when defending. This makes it very difficult for the opposition to find gaps between the lines.
