On the left, MATHÍAS is tasked to push up and support the play. STALIN and ESTALIN form the central pairing, with one player tasked to cover while the other engages the striker. The defensive unit works to step up together to keep the lines close and compress the space.

The midfield functions with a trio that connects the defense to the attack. SERGIO and ANGELO play in the central areas to shield the back four and intercept passes. MILER operates as an attacking ten, finding pockets of space between the opposition lines to create chances. This midfield group works to break the line with vertical passes and ensures the team maintains control when they move from a defensive block into attack.

Emelec utilizes three attackers to stretch the opposition. LUCA leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and bring others into play. ARIEL and JUAN PABLO play as wide attackers, with the instruction to cut inside and find shooting lanes. The forwards press in unison to force mistakes high up the pitch, creating movements that pull defenders out of position and open channels for runners.
