He is supported by L.Comenencia and K.Gorré who help to intercept passes and push the line up. Further forward, J.Bacuna and S.Hansen work to connect the deep midfield to the attack. This group must shift together to close down passing lanes and maintain a narrow block.

In the attacking phase, the team relies on a lone striker, B.Kuwas, to lead the line. B.Kuwas must hold up the ball and wait for support from the advancing midfielders. The wide midfielders drop back to help the full backs, which prevents the team from being caught out in transition. The goal is to create space for the midfielders to make late runs into the box once the ball is won back.

Tanzania finds strength in their ability to maintain compactness when defending. By crowding the midfield, they create a wall that is difficult to pass through.
