Inter plays a highly unconventional 2-4-4 formation that focuses on extreme verticality and overwhelming numbers in the final third. Inter relies on a heavy offensive presence to force turnovers in the opponent half, using massive numbers up front to exploit any gaps in the defensive line.

Lautaro operates as the goalkeeper to start the buildup, while the defensive line consists of only two central defenders. Diaby and Paz form the central pairing, tasked with covering huge amounts of space behind the midfield. Since there are no full backs, these two must be prepared to step up to intercept long balls or drop deep to cover wide areas. The backline functions as a minimal block that relies on the midfielders to shield the central area.

The midfield operates as a flat bank of four to bridge the gap between the two defenders and the four attackers. Calhanoglu acts as the primary playmaker from the left central position, using his passing range to break the lines. Barella works alongside him to drive forward and press the opposition center. Dimarco on the left and Porro on the right provide the necessary width, often pushing high to act as wide midfielders who can cross or cut inside.

Inter utilizes a front four consisting of two central strikers and two wide attackers. Lacroix and Josep occupy the central channels to hold up the ball and fight for second balls. Bastoni and Bisseck play as wide attackers on the right and left flanks, respectively. These wide players are expected to press high and drive into the box, creating constant movement that forces the opposition defenders to stay narrow and leave gaps for the central strikers.
