PSG utilizes a 5-2-3 formation to create a formation focused on high pressing and rapid transitions. This lineup is built to control the central areas of the pitch while using wide players to stretch the opposition defense. The primary goal for PSG is to win the ball high up the pitch and move it quickly toward the goal.

Benjamin Ridiguer operates behind a back five that can shift lineup depending on the ball position. Guez. capo sits at the center of the defense to command the line and provide cover. Pokora and Gaël saùl gangster act as the side central defenders to step up and intercept passes or win aerial duels. The wide defensive duties fall to Moïse and Patrick who act as wing backs. These players are expected to push high to provide width and track back quickly when the team loses possession to prevent counter attacks.

The midfield relies on a double pivot consisting of Ô Black. Chrivic and Louis. These two players must work hard to shield the defense and break the lines with their passing. Louis looks to connect the back line to the attackers, while Ô Black. Chrivic works to press the opposition and win back possession in the middle third. This pairing acts as the engine room that manages the tempo and ensures the team does not get overrun in the center.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers to pin back the opposing defenders. Nathan tic.ô tac leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and create space for others. Jurés and Israël operate as wide attackers who look to cut inside and find scoring opportunities. Their movement creates chaos in the box and forces the opposing full backs to stay deep. The front three are tasked with pressing the opposition goalkeeper and defenders to force mistakes.

One major advantage is the ability to create wide overloads when Moïse and Patrick overlap the wingers. This forces the opponent to choose between marking the cross or the player cutting inside. Another strength is the compactness of the five defenders and two midfielders which makes it hard for opponents to find space between the lines. The system allows the team to shift from a solid defensive block to a vertical attacking lineup in seconds.

This formation provides a heavy presence in both the wide areas and the attacking third. It is best suited for matches where the team wants to dominate through high pressing and quick transitions against a side that plays a high defensive line.
