Allison starts in goal and uses his sweeping ability to cover the space behind the defenders. Konate and Van dijk act as the central pair in a flat back four, where Van dijk uses his aerial strength and passing range to control the back line. Bradley plays as an overlapping full back on the right to provide width. On the left, Kerkez stays wide to push the play up the flank. The whole defensive unit stays compact to block passing lanes and track back when needed.

The midfield uses a double pivot with Adam and Ryan sitting deep to shield the defense. They focus on marking opponents and intercepting passes to stop counter attacks. Ahead of them, Szoboslai, Yan, and Florian occupy the central spaces. Szoboslai brings his pressing intensity and passing range to drive the team forward and break the line. These players link the defense to the attack by making runs and switching play to the flanks.

Hugo operates as a lone striker at the top of the formation. Since the midfield is crowded, Hugo must hold up the ball to allow others to join the attack. The attackers and midfielders must press the opposition constantly to force turnovers. Yan and Florian often make late runs into the box to provide central presence. This movement creates space for Hugo to turn and find teammates with a pass.

A major advantage of this Liverpool lineup is the numerical superiority in the center of the pitch. With five players in the midfield, it is very difficult for opponents to play through the middle. The team also relies on the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the energy of Szoboslai and Hugo to hunt the ball. This keeps the opponent pinned in their own half and creates chances to steal the ball.
