Czechia focuses on being a compact and direct side, utilizing a 4-4-2. This formation is built to sit in a mid-block and win the ball to launch quick attacks. Kovar stays between the posts to command the area and organize the defense. The back line works as a flat back four with Jurasek at left back and Coufal at right back. Coufal often pushes up to overlap the winger and provide width. In the center, Krejci and Hranac hold the line. Hranac is dominant in the air and helps to clear the lines when under pressure, while Krejci provides cover to ensure the unit stays tight. The whole defensive unit works to squeeze the space and deny the turn to oncoming attackers.

The midfield works hard to win the second ball and protect the center. Soucek and Sadilek act as a double pivot to shield the defense, with Soucek known for his high work rate and aerial strength. Darida connects the defensive and attacking lines, using his passing range to switch play and find teammates. Sulc plays as an attacking ten, looking to play through the lines to link the midfield and the forwards. This group is tasked to intercept passes and carry the ball forward to start attacks.

Two attackers lead the line to pressure the opposition back line. Schick acts as a pressing centre-forward who can hold up the ball and find the feet of his partner. Hlozek plays alongside him, often making runs in behind to exploit the space left by the opposition. They look to combine in tight spaces or use the width provided by the full backs to stretch the defence. The front two work to pin the last defender and create space for midfielders to arrive late into the box.

This formation offers great compactness when defending and provides a strong presence in the center. The ability to win the second ball allows Czechia to maintain pressure in the middle third. They also benefit from the speed of transition when the midfield wins possession and breaks quickly. Wide overloads can be created when Jurasek and Coufal push high to support the attack.
