Starting Lineup

Belenenses aims to play a direct and aggressive style of football using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup focuses on high intensity and verticality to catch opponents off guard. The team looks to win the ball high up the pitch and move through the thirds with speed.

Priyam/clement acts as the last line of defense in goal. The back line operates as a back three where Bingko sits in the middle of the unit. Nitu plays as the left centre-back and Alex plays as the right centre-back. These three defenders work together to defend zonally and provide cover when the team pushes up. They aim to keep a compact shape to prevent runners from finding space between the lines.

The midfield is built around a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. Rehan and Neyson sit in front of the back three to shield the defense and win the second ball. They are tasked to protect the central area and recycle possession when needed. Further forward, Rajson and Julius act as two tens in the half-spaces. Rajson and Julius link the midfield to the attack by finding pockets of space and carrying the ball forward to stretch the defense.

In the attacking third, Belenenses uses three attackers to pin the opposition back line. Joel plays on the left wing and Joass operates on the right wing. Both Joel and Joass look to spread wide to provide width for the team. Jabas/johsua leads the line as a lone striker. The striker works to hold up the ball and link up play with the wide players. This attacking unit is designed to create runs in behind and isolate defenders in one on one situations.

This formation provides Belenenses with clear tactical advantages. The double pivot of Rehan and Neyson allows for compactness when defending in a mid-block. Having Rajson and Julius in the half-spaces creates numerical superiority in the attacking zones. The team can also use the wide presence of Joel and Joass to create overloads.
