Algeria plays with an aggressive and vertical style of football using a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the ball back high up the pitch to launch rapid attacks. In the attacking third, the team uses a front three. Gouiri works as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball from the opposition. Amoura and Hadj Moussa operate as wide wingers to stretch the defence and provide width. These wide players try to get to the byline and cut it back for the teammates arriving late. The movement is designed to create runs in behind and allow the players to combine in tight spaces.
