Inter aims to dominate through high intensity pressing and rapid vertical transitions in this 5-2-3 formation. The lineup relies on a heavy presence in the final third to force mistakes from the opposition. This setup allows Inter to stay compact while keeping enough bodies forward to punish teams on the break.

In the defensive zone, the goalkeeper starts the buildup by playing short from the back. The back five works as a coordinated unit to defend zonally and squeeze the space. Xvv operates as a right centre-back to anchor the right side of the central block, while the middle centre-back holds the line. Poxmelator acts as a left wing back to provide width and track back when the ball is lost. NK plays as the right wing back, ready to push up and provide an outlet. The defensive unit works together to maintain a compact shape and win the second ball in central areas.

The midfield functions as a double pivot to provide control in the middle third. Undertaker plays as the right central midfielder, looking to carry the ball forward and connect the lines. Fishy sits alongside as the left central midfielder to help shield the defence and win possession. This pair must work hard to intercept passes and protect the back five. They act as the engine room, either dropping deep to receive from the defenders or pressing aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch.

Moving into the attack, the team uses three attackers to stretch the defence. Rekro leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and find the feet of others. The wingers provide width and look to cut inside to create chances. They often look to hit in behind on the transition to catch the opposition out of position. This attacking trio works in combinations to create runs in behind and deliver crosses into the box.

Inter finds success by using wide overloads when the wing backs push forward. The combination of the wingers and NK or Poxmelator creates numerical superiority on the flanks. Another strength is the ability to press in a mid-block, forcing the opponent to play long balls that the central defenders can win. This setup allows the team to transition from a deep defensive block to an attacking threat in seconds.

This 5-2-3 formation is built for teams that want to control the transition and dominate the flanks. It is best suited for matches against opponents that play with a high line and leave space behind their defenders.
