BATE Football Formation
Starting Lineup
VEREMKO · FILIPENKO · MILUNOVIĆ · YUREVICH · BORDACHYOV · RODIONOV · STASEVICH · KRIVETS · BRESSAN · DRAHUN · LIKHTAROVICHBATE looks to strike quickly with a vertical style of play using a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup focuses on getting enough bodies forward to overwhelm opponents during transitions. By keeping a heavy presence in the final third, BATE aims to force turnovers and exploit the space behind a high defensive line.
Veremko operates between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit stays in a flat back four, with Yurevich and Bordachyov occupying the wide positions. Yurevich acts as a defensive wing back to cover the flank, while Bordachyov provides balance on the left. In the middle, Filipenko and Milunović work as a central pair to defend the box and clear the lines. Filipenko provides the physical presence to win the header, while Milunović works to cover the space behind the others.
The midfield relies on a double pivot to maintain control of the center. Likhtarovich and Drahun act as the two central players tasked with protecting the defense. Likhtarovich works to intercept passes and win the second ball in the middle, while Drahun helps to connect the defensive unit to the attack. This duo must work hard to shield the two center backs and ensure they do not get outnumbered when the team pushes up the pitch.
BATE utilizes four attackers to pin the opposition back. Krivets and Stasevich play as wide wingers who stay wide to stretch the defence. Krivets prefers to cut inside to find space, while Stasevich looks to drive at the defense. Up front, Bressan and Rodionov operate as a two man forward partnership. Bressan works to hold up the ball, while Rodionov looks to make runs in behind to exploit gaps. The team builds attacks by using the width of the pitch before looking to play through the lines.
This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to hit in behind on the transition. Having four players high up the pitch allows BATE to create immediate pressure when they win the ball. The wide positioning of Krivets and Stasevich also creates opportunities to isolate defenders in one on one situations.
The 4-2-4 formation is built for teams that want to play a high tempo game. It is most effective against opponents that leave too much space in the channels or fail to track late runners.
