Joshua Kimmich, who is highly regarded for his passing range and ability to control the tempo, acts as the primary conductor. Pavlovic works to press aggressively and win the second ball to allow the team to maintain pressure. This pair must cover significant ground to protect the center of the pitch when the wide players move forward. Kimmich often drops to help build play, while Pavlovic works to connect the defensive line to the heavy attacking force ahead.

The central roles are occupied by Jamal Musiala and Harry Kane.
