Bounou guards the goal and manages the defensive line from the back. The back five utilizes Diop, Bouaddi, and Riad in a central trio, while Hakimi © and Mazraoui act as attacking wing backs. Hakimi © uses his pace to push up the right flank and stretch the defence, while Mazraoui provides width on the left. Diop and Riad work to win headers and clear the lines, with Bouaddi acting as the covering player to sweep behind them. The entire unit holds a narrow defensive block to force the opposition wide.

The midfield works to control the center and link the defence to the attack. El Aynaoui acts as a single pivot to shield the defence and win the second ball. Ounahi and El Khannouss occupy the central spaces to connect the lines. Ounahi uses his pressing intensity to win the ball high and disrupt the opponent, while El Khannouss looks to receive on the half-turn and play through the lines. Brahim operates as an attacking ten in the hole to drive forward with the ball and find pockets of space between the lines.

Saibari leads the line as a lone striker to hold up the ball and lead the press from the front. Brahim plays as a shadow striker to support him, creating a central threat. The attack relies on Hakimi © and Mazraoui to provide width by getting to the byline and delivering crosses. When Morocco wins the ball, they look to break quickly and hit in behind on the transition. Saibari will press the opposition back line to force a long ball, allowing the midfield to collect the ball and move into the final third.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its compactness when defending. By squeezing the space, Morocco makes it very difficult for the opposition to play through the middle. Another strength is the speed of transition, as the team can quickly spread wide to catch the opponent out of position. The ability to use the wing backs to create wide overloads also provides a way to bypass a crowded midfield.
