Kylian Mbappe operates as a lone striker, acting as a pressing centre forward to force a long ball from the opposition. He uses his explosive pace to make runs in behind the defence. The wingers and central midfielders look to support him by making runs into the half spaces. The team builds play through the middle but also looks to switch play to the wide areas where the full backs can whip it in. Kylian Mbappe often pins the last defender to create space for the late arrivals from midfield.
