Fenerbahçe prefers to control games through high pressing and verticality in a 4-3-3. This formation is built to hunt the ball high up the pitch and move forward quickly to exploit gaps in the opposition defense. The goal is to use the quality of the forwards to punish teams during transitions while maintaining a strong presence in the central areas.

Volkan stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defense operates as a flat back four where Roberto Carlos acts as an attacking left back to provide width and much of the crossing quality. Gökhan holds his position on the right to balance the defense. In the center, Lugano uses his aerial strength to win headers while Juan Silveira covers the space behind him to sweep up long balls. The unit works together to hold a high line and compress the playing area.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier and a creative presence. M. Senna and Aurelio sit in the middle to shield the defense and win the second ball. They work to link the defense to the attack by recycling possession and finding the feet of the players ahead of them. Alex plays in the hole behind the striker, acting as the main creator who can pass through the lines or arrive late into the box to score. This trio ensures Fenerbahçe can both press aggressively and control the tempo.

The attacking unit relies on a star striker, Ronaldo Nazario, who uses his explosive dribbling and clinical finishing to lead the line. He works in combination with Tuncay and Deivid on the flanks. Tuncay acts as an inverted winger who cuts inside to create chaos, while Deivid stays wider to stretch the defense. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition, creating chances for the midfield to intercept and start a counter at pace.

One major advantage is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, with the front three and Alex squeezing the space in the final third. The team also benefits from the overlapping runs of Roberto Carlos, which creates wide overloads. This makes it very difficult for opponents to track every runner when the ball moves from side to side quickly.

Fenerbahçe uses this 4-3-3 to dominate possession and attack with intensity. This lineup is best suited for matches against teams that play a high defensive line or struggle to cope with rapid transitions.
