Inter focuses on defensive solidity and rapid transitions, using a 5-2-3 formation to control space. This lineup is built to sit in a mid-block and win the second ball before launching direct attacks. The team aims to squeeze the space between the lines and rely on the speed of their front three to punish opponents.

The goalkeeper sits behind a back five that provides heavy cover across the width of the pitch. Poxmelator acts as the central anchor in the back three, while the RCB and LCB work to defend zonally and provide cover when the wing backs push high. NK operates as an attacking wing back on the right side to provide width, while the LWB stays wide to stretch the defence. The unit works to keep a compact shape, with the centre backs ready to step up and trigger a press or drop into a low block when under pressure.

In the middle of the pitch, Inter utilizes a double pivot to control the tempo. Undertaker plays as one of the two central midfielders, tasked with driving forward with the ball and connecting the defensive and attacking lines. The LCM works alongside Undertaker to shield the defence and recycle possession. This duo must work to pick up runners and ensure the space in front of the back five remains protected. They are responsible for finding the feet of the striker and playing through the lines to find the attackers.

The attacking unit consists of three players tasked with pinning the last defender. Rekro plays as an inverted winger on the left, looking to cut inside and create chances, while Xvv operates on the right to stretch the pitch and deliver crosses. The lone striker acts as a focal point, looking to hold up the ball and link up play with the wingers. When the team wins the ball high up the pitch, the forwards press from the front to force a long ball and regain possession quickly.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages, specifically the ability to create wide overloads through the movement of NK and the LWB. Inter can also achieve a high degree of compactness when defending, making it very difficult for opponents to play through the middle. The speed of transition allows the team to hit in behind on the transition, using the width of Rekro and Xvv to isolate wide players in one on one situations.

Inter relies on a strong defensive foundation to support their rapid counter attacking style. This formation is best suited for games against teams that dominate possession but struggle to deal with direct vertical play.
