BASTONI plays as the left centre-back and is known for his passing range to start attacks from deep, while BISSECK provides cover on the right. This back three stays compact to protect the central zone, though they must be ready to step up to set the offside trap.

In the middle of the park, Inter uses a four man midfield to control the tempo. BARELLA acts as a driver to carry the ball forward and link the lines, while ZIELINSKI works to find the feet of the striker and recycle possession. DIMARCO plays as an attacking wing back on the left to provide width and whip it in from deep, whereas KAYODE operates on the right flank. This unit works to compress the midfield and deny the turn to opposition players.

The attacking front line features three players tasked with pinning the last defender. LAUTARO operates as a pressing centre-forward to force a long ball from the opposition, while THURAM occupies the right wing to cut inside and create central presence. On the left, ENCISO occupies the wide position to stretch the defence. The team looks to play through the lines with quick combinations, often looking for runs in behind to exploit the space left by a high defensive line.
