Vitesse Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Fletch · Matt · Chud · Jag · DH · Isaac · Shai · JP · Nathan · JH · JuneVitesse focuses on a heavy high press and quick transitions through a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to squeeze the space in the opposition half and use wide players to stretch the defense during attacking phases. The team aims to win the ball high up the pitch to catch opponents before they can settle into their own rhythm.
Fletch acts as the goalkeeper, guarding the goal while the back line maintains a high line. DH occupies the central role in a back three, acting as a primary marker to protect the middle. Matt sits as the right centre-back to cover the wide areas, while Chud plays as the left centre-back to provide balance. The defensive unit works together to set the offside trap and ensure the distance between the defenders and the midfield remains tight.
The midfield operates as a flat four to control the central areas and provide width. Isaac and Jag occupy the central roles, acting as the engine to win the second ball and recycle possession. Isaac drives forward with the ball to link the lines, whereas Jag focuses on screening the defense and shielding the back three. On the flanks, JP and Shai act as wide midfielders who provide the width necessary to spread the opposition.
Vitesse utilizes three attackers to pin the opposition back. June operates as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and find the feet of teammates. On the wings, JH and Nathan play as wide attackers who often cut inside to create central overloads. JH looks to isolate defenders one on one, while Nathan makes runs in behind to exploit space. This attacking front line works to press the opposition back line intensely to force errors.
One major advantage for Vitesse is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to play out from the back. The formation also creates wide overloads through the combination of JP, Shai, and the wingers. This allows the team to dominate the flanks and deliver crosses into the box. The presence of Isaac and Jag in the middle provides the stability needed to prevent counter attacks while others push up.
This 3-4-3 formation is designed for a team that wants to dominate through aggression and high intensity. It is best suited for matches against opponents who struggle to play under pressure in their own defensive third.
