Kalulu and Cambiaso work as a double pivot to shield the two defenders, with Kalulu focusing on intercepts and Cambiaso helping to recycle possession. Koopmeiners and D. Luiz occupy the central spaces, with Koopmeiners providing high pressing intensity and both acting as drivers who carry the ball forward and arrive late into the box. Yildiz plays as an attacking ten in the hole, moving between the lines to find pockets of space and play through the lines to the forwards.

The attacking unit uses three players to stretch the opposition. Kolo Muani leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, using his movement to pin the last defender and hold up the ball. Openda and Conceição play as wide attackers, with Openda looking to cut inside and Conceição to spread wide and whip it in. Attacks occur in combinations, looking to create runs in behind or use the wide players to isolate wide players in one on one situations.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads and numerical superiority in the central areas. By committing five players to the midfield and three to the front, Juventus can overwhelm the opponent and win the second ball constantly. The coordination allows the team to press in coordinated waves, forcing the opponent into mistakes in their own defensive third.
