The attacking front line uses three attackers across the front to create constant threats. PDP operates as a lone striker who must hold up the ball and link up play with the teammates behind him. On the flanks, SAVIO and FASCINO act as wide wingers who stretch the defense by pulling wide to the touchlines. Both SAVIO and FASCINO look to cut inside to create chances or deliver crosses into the box. This movement creates space for PDP to find room in the box or for CAFAGNA to arrive late into the box.

A major strength of this formation is the massive numerical superiority in midfield. With five players occupying the center, the team can easily outnumber opponents and recycle possession quickly. Another advantage is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three to trigger a press that forces the opponent to play long balls.
