Persib look to overwhelm opponents with a high intensity, attacking identity using a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to play vertical football that seeks to hurt the opposition through directness and heavy numbers in the final third. By pushing many players forward, the team aims to pin the opposition back and create constant pressure in their defensive zone.

Teja stays between the posts to command his area and manage any balls played long. The defensive unit operates with a flat back four that must stay disciplined to cover the space left by the forward line. Sidibe plays as the right back to provide stability, while Eliano acts as the left back to help cover the flank. In the center, Mutombo and Matricardi work as a central pairing, with Mutombo using his physicality to win the header and Matricardi providing cover to ensure the back line holds.

The midfield relies on a double pivot to maintain some semblance of control in the center of the pitch. Haye works to connect the defensive and attacking lines, often dropping to receive the ball and finding teammates in advanced positions. Gokuto acts as the carrier, driving forward with the ball to transition the team from a defensive block into an attacking phase. These two must work hard to intercept passes and cover the space left behind when the attackers push up.

In the final third, Persib utilizes a four man front line to stretch the defence. Berguinho and Jung operate as a central partnership, with Berguinho acting as a target man to hold up the ball and Jung looking to make runs in behind. On the flanks, Peralta and Menalo act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to spread the play wide. This setup creates many combinations in transition, allowing the wingers to cut inside or deliver a cross to the central strikers.

One major advantage of this lineup is the ability to create wide overloads when the wingers and full backs move in unison. The team can also use its heavy numbers up front to press from the front, forcing the opposition into mistakes. This numerical superiority in the attacking half makes it very difficult for opponents to defend comfortably without being stretched thin.

This 4-2-4 formation is designed for a high risk, high reward style of play. It is best suited for matches where Persib needs to break down a deep defending opponent through sheer attacking volume.
