The midfield operates with a single pivot and two advanced midfielders. Martin Zubimendi sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and intercept passes. Alongside him, Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice operate in the half-spaces to connect the lines. Ødegaard uses his exceptional passing range to break the line, while Rice uses his physicality to win the second ball and carry the ball forward. This three-man midfield works to compress the midfield and ensure Arsenal keep control of the center of the pitch.

In the attacking third, Arsenal use three attackers to stretch the defence. Bukayo Saka plays on the right wing and likes to cut inside to create chances, while Gabriel Martinelli provides pace on the left.
